If someone asks me about the significant learning experience for me to working in a group, I would like to tell them that I have realized working in group allows me to brainstorm on more ideas and also provides complete information and knowledge. It also trains my interpersonal, communication and conflict management skills. I also feel that through group work, I can understand and know one another better.
However, I faced conflicts and disagreements. I tried to compromise in order to resolve this. I believe I have applied conflict management skills. Overall, it is rather beneficial learning in groups.
As an individual contributor, I have gained from this experience was that I learnt to be independent learner instead of relying on my lecturer learning note. I learnt what I have contributed to my group wiki. Though topics to be researches are distributed to each member, I have to make sure that my findings will not fail my group mates.
After a series of researching, I could not find articles. I found this is my most challenging experience I had during group work. It seems my points are way off from the content, thus, it does not available in the internet. I have to think hard on other possible areas that can be related to the internet security as it is my group question.
If there is a next batch wiki groups that they are going to embark a similar project, I would to like to advice them to come together and list as many as possible so that if ten of the points they listed are invalid or can’t be found, there are still other points.
I would use Wiki as a research in my own Diplomas. As I do the Wiki for the EIR e-learning, I found that information I added in Wiki is what I understood from other websites and wrote it in my own words. It is compiled information. Thus, I will be using Wiki for research in my own Diploma.
